Ingredient Spotlight: Cinnamon

The Cherry+Walnut+Cinnamon bar is the original Thunderbird bar and it was developed to not only taste great and keep us fueled, but also to help reduce inflammation in the body. And, since cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, which protects the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals, it was the perfect spice to compliment the tart cherry and delicious walnut crunch.

The use of cinnamon dates back to medieval times when it was used to cure diarrhea, indigestion and bloating. While it is still used to treat many of those ailments today, it has also been shown to prevent the spread of cancer cells, the formation of stomach ulcers, and assists in curing bacterial infections. Cinnamon lowers blood sugar levels along with bad cholesterol levels (LDL) while having no effect on the good cholesterol (HDL). In addition, it is rich in manganese, iron, calcium and fiber.

So are you ready to add a little more cinnamon to your diet? Then use the code 20Cherry for 20% off and find out why we think this little spice is oh so nice in the Thunderbird bar of the month.
